Analogue Aotearoa
Aotearoa New Zealand’s first festival dedicated to celebrating the beauty, craft, and community of film and handmade photography and printing.
Founded in 2025 in the historic spa town of Te Aroha, the festival brings together artists, photographers, educators, and curious creatives to explore traditional and alternative image-making processes — from 35mm, medium and large format film to wet plate collodion, cyanotypes, salt prints, Polaroids, pinhole, photograms and more.
Through a weekend of exhibitions, workshops, artist talks, photo walks, zine stalls, swap meets, stalls, slide shows and community events, Analogue Aotearoa invites people of all ages and skill levels to slow down, get hands-on, and connect with a growing analogue movement rooted in craft, creativity, and care.
Whether you're a seasoned darkroom printer, a film photography newbie, or simply drawn to the tactile and timeless, Analogue Aotearoa is your place to engage, learn, share and be inspired.
